 Timmy T. Smith, originally from Cleveland, Mississippi, is the full-time minister of the Lakewood Church of Christ, formerly Inner City Church of Christ. Tim has faithfully preached and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ at Lakewood for more than 18 years.

Tim met and married his wife, the former Michelle Curtis of Charleston, Mississippi, in 1992. They have been blessed with a son, Sherif Smith, who is the pride and joy of their lives. In 2020, God blessed Tim and Michelle with a bonus son, Desean Upton.

In October 1992, Tim was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ by Jack King at Lampton Street Church of Christ in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. That same night, he obeyed the gospel and was baptized by Dr. Harvey M. Jackson. As he matured in faith, Tim became increasingly involved in the church and accepted several responsibilities as a young brother. Because of his faithfulness and dedication to the kingdom, he later accepted the position of Assistant Minister at Liberty Heights Church of Christ in Batesville, Mississippi.

Tim is a graduate of East Side High School, where he was a two-time state contender in track and field and a former basketball standout. He later attended Coahoma Junior College in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas, and is currently completing his doctorate in theology.

He is the author and publisher of The Art and Essence of Ministry. He is also the founder of Timmy T. Ministries, a ministry designed to help those in need.

He is an active board member of the Mississippi and Alabama State Lectureship of the Churches of Christ. His ministry and community service include Chairman of the Senior Minister’s Appreciation Committee, Chaplain of the Jemison High School Track and Field team, former President and Chaplain of the South Huntsville Civitan Club, former President of the Sparkman High School Football Booster Club, former instructor for more than 14 years at His Way, a rehabilitation program for men, former firefighter, and President of the Sid and Patty Smith Foundation, Inc. His service to the Lord has allowed him to conduct workshops at the Mississippi State Youth Conference and conduct gospel meetings throughout the US. Tim has preached throughout the brotherhood on national and international levels, including Mexico, Honduras, and Haiti.
